Internal Microphone: I couldn't get the internal microphone working at first. To get the internal mic working on the Latitude D830 you need to first enable some extra settings.

Double click the volume control icon in top right system tray. Click preferences. Check off "Capture" and "Input Source". After, in Recording tab, make sure volume is turned up and mic is not muted. Then go to options tab and select Front Mic. After this, the internal mic on the D830 should be working.

There is also a very minor issue with the touchpad not having the acceleration set high enough by default. Touchpad issue is easily solved by adjusted in the system preferences.
