Graphics Card: Brightness would reset after reboot and would skip steps when adjusting. Fixed with this:

XPS M1330 Brightness Fix for Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron
sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
Then added this to the file, saved, and rebooted:
blacklist video

Fingerprint Reader: Had to install Thinkfinger.
