Please excuse the alpha website. Linux Compatibility dot ORG will be undergoing a major overhaul in the near future.

Join FSFLinux Compatibility on the .org was created to provide you with a feature-rich, easy-to-use website for adding Linux compatibility reviews and finding Linux compatible hardware. The goal is twofold:

  1. Support current Linux users and those who are new to Linux by compiling the most comprehensive repository of compatible hardware reviews for a variety of Linux distros.
  2. Encourage hardware vendors to improve Linux compatibility.

If you are using Linux, you can help by filing a review. As more and more people begin demanding that open source drivers be made available to run their computers with Linux, computer vendors will see the value in supporting Linux and will allocate more resources towards compatibility and optimized drivers. As a result, we will have a broader selection of computers with a Linux distro preloaded and fully compatible. We the consumers drive the market with our purchasing decisions.

Who wants to pay for a cruddy closed-source operating system anymore? Just say no to the Micro$oft tax!

Minor issue that correct resolution of 1920x1200 was not recognized during install. This had to be set after installation. Wireless seems to be a little finicky but is working.

GMA X3100 Graphics Card: The Intel driver is not installed by default. Even after installing the package "xserver-xorg-video-intel" resolution is still stuck at 1024x768 (should be 1920x1200).
